• Rik Barron is an award winning recording artist and multi-instrumentalist. His rich baritone vocals perfectly compliment his extensive repertoire of traditional folk songs and sea shanties, along with a variety of great original songs written by some of east coast Canada's finest songwriters, including Cape Breton Island's, Duncan Wells and Newfoundland's Trad/Rock pioneer, Dave Panting.
  
  Rik is a folk festival veteran whose unique guitar and banjo styles have caught the attention of audience members and music critics alike. As a teenager he was named best instrumentalist by the Newfoundland Folk Artist Association, and his kid friendly tunes earned him a East Coast Music Award in the year 2000. He has been a faculty member at the Maryland Banjo Academy, the Smoky Mountain Banjo Academy and has been featured on the cover on the Banjo Newsletter.
